Pediatrics Funding Opportunity at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative

10 Feb 2021

Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is a philanthropy that supports the basic science and technology that will make it possible to cure, prevent, or manage all diseases by the end of this century.

CZI is soliciting proposals for our new Pediatric Networks for the Human Cell Atlas request for applications (RFA). This RFA is focused on supporting collaborative teams of researchers to contribute healthy, single-cell reference data from pediatric tissue samples to the Human Cell Atlas project. This RFA is intended to support established teams as well as new collaborations, and welcomes proposals that will make significant contributions toward single-cell reference data for the community of patients, clinicians, and researchers engaged in pediatric research.

There is a significant community engagement component in this RFA — teams with strong community engagement experience and plans will be the most competitive.  A registry of interest has been set up for this RFA to facilitate the formation of new teams.

CZI Science believes the strongest scientific teams — encompassing ourselves, our grantees, and our partners — incorporate a wide range of lived experiences and perspectives that guide them to the most important unsolved problems. We use a variety of funding mechanisms to support science, including targeted grantmaking and open competitions for grant applicants in specific scientific areas, such as single-cell biology, neurodegeneration, biomedical imaging, open science, computational biology, and patient-driven research organizations.

We invite you to pass this opportunity on to members of your networks and the wider community, and to please join their mailing list to stay up to date about future funding opportunities from CZI.
